Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I have been a customer of a Choice home for a few years. It's the best insurance I could have invested in. I even referred my girlfriend and she loves it too. The process is easy as 1-2-3. Your appliance breaks down, call choice, and someone calls you back to come and fix the problem. I love them and the customer service. People say customer service is out the door, I say, not with Home choice Warranty. And the price is so affordable and convenient to pay. Why wait, call them today.

My plumbing was stopped up at my rental house. I put in an online request to have it repaired. I had a name of a Plumber in less than a hour. The Plumber came out that afternoon and was able to fix the stopped main drain.

What a pleasant surprise this company is! My Home Warranty with another company was up for renewal, but their rates had skyrocketed, so I was searching online for another company. As soon as I got on Choice's website, my phone rang, and it was Ralph with Choice! I was amazed at the quick response! I purchased the 3-year plan that they offer to seniors, and my rate is less than half what my renewal would have been! Our kitchen sink drain stopped up a couple of days after I got the warranty. I called Choice. No waiting, got a person immediately, and she called San Antonio Plumbing. They called me within a couple of hours - and this was on Sunday afternoon! Worst company for home warranty you could ever purchase. Deceptive business model, don't get full details of coverage until after you pay. Refuses to pay claims on bogus reasoning. Had plumbing issue, paid for the emergency blockage. When requesting reimbursement, claim was denied due to blockage not repaired by cable line. This was untrue, I was there and paid the plumber's work as he cleared the line by cable. CHW does not give factual reasoning behind denying claim. Air conditioning problems, leak in coil. They refused to pay for repairs because they said it was due to factors other than wear and tear. Untrue again. How do they know what the cause of the leak was.

THE WORST .....THEY WILL NOT COVER A/C REPLACEMENT BECAUSE I ONLY HAD THE POLICY FOR OVER 1 MONTH. I CAN NOT HELP IT IF THE COMPRESSOR FAILS ON A UNIT THAT IS MORE THAN 10 YEARS OLD. The Representative offer discount for 5 year warranty, which covers everything in the house. But when my refrigerator fail, I called them for service, tech came and left stating it is not covered because it was not in the kitchen; instead of repairing, they offered a lower payment and do not offer any repair replacement. I was then forced to cancel their warranty and asked for full payment I made for several months each month costing me more than $600.00. I do not recommend taking coverage from Choice Home Warranty due to my bad experience with the company

Don't Buy it I had purchased on two home called them three times every time the part broke not covered. Water heater covered but if tank leaks not covered. Garrage door covered broken springs not covered. Plumbing covered leaking faucets not covered. It's a scam.

I found out that my AC was not working on Sunday evening and I called the claim service line. The representative is very professional, with excellent service. I got the contractor confirmation email within minutes. With the high quality contractor help, My AC was fixed within 20 hours. I strongly recommend Choice Home Warranty.

Choice received a F rating from Consumer Report for their practice of not paying any claims. My experience follows along that same vein. I have a pool, and they allow 500 dollars for pool repairs. I had a leak in the pipes around the pump motor. After three times trying to fix the leak, and replacing the motor (with >$400.00 out of pocket) I still had the leak, but they wouldn't repair it since they had already gone through the $500.00. That is just one of my experiences.
