Choice Home Warranty is a New Jersey-based company founded in 2008 which offers services contracts. Their plans offer protection against the cost of repair or replacement of major systems and appliances in the home via several plans. Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Called choice to get a repair, tech. could not come out for six days. they no show no call on that day wasted my time called the repair co. set up another day and time again no show no call. Choice had no clew what was going on because they do not follow up on new customers. So now iam stuck with no service and Choice saying there were sorry. Not good will be looking for another company.

I was very disappointed with Choice Home Warranty. We had a problem with our pool pump one week after we were eligible to submit claims (5 weeks after signing up and paying). A technician was sent, he told me we needed a new motor. He said there should be no problem in getting it approved and he would call be back in an hour. He never called back. I tried following up with him and then Choice. They told me it was pending. Another day goes by, I call Choice again, they tell me my claim has been approved, then they put me on hold, and came back and said the tech said even though it was loud and grinding we could get another six months out it. I have been with Choice Home Warranty for a few years now. Everytime I have called, they have been very responsive and professional. My last claim request was concerning repair of my hot water heater in May 2017. I entered my claim on their website and it was immediately assigned a claim number. Within 30 minutes a contractor was assigned. The contractor reponded within an hour. By noon, the contractor was at my home and making repairs. All repairs were completed in one day. The contractor was professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommmend Choice Home Warranty. Its a life saver, when things break down or stop working.

This was the best decision that i have made getting insurance on my home appliances. I only had choice home warranty for three months before my stove blow out. I call and a tech was her in less then 48 hours. They was not able to fix the stove top and because it was an electical problem which they did not cover, i still received a check to cover the stove top. Of $200.00. Choice home warranty call with update and a resolution within 48 hours after the tech came out. I give this company execellent rating they are true to their word and get the job done!! For $38.00 a month i know if something in my home break it was be fixed or replaced.

I did not have a good experience with this company. I purchased the warranty for my dad and everything was fine until I had to call for a repair job for his air conditioner. It took nearly two weeks before they assigned the job to a company, and then it was week before that company could come to my dad's house. After all that, Choice Warranty denied the claim and would not fix or replace any parts of the air conditioning. They said the unit was too old. I immediately cancelled the warranty and told them why I was canceling it. Do not do business with Choice Warranty!!!

I had a tech go out to inspect my home I was working at the time so I had my mother go during inspection they said they went to look at the duct work because one of the rooms was not getting cool.The tech then calls me and said everything is fine that the a.c. is a small until for the house it is a 5ton unit for a 4 bed room .So talk to buddy that is a certified a.c. tech he goes and takes a look and one of the duct is smashed I asked my mo mom if the tech went up the attic she tells me no!!!!So I called choice they said the tech said everything is fine and I tell her the tech never went up in the attic and she tells me yes did I said my mom told me he never went up so know I got pay for a... The first air conditioning company assigned to my repair was AZ Plumbing and air was horrible. A nightmare. They came three times and canceled three. They never actually looked at my unit, and added the wrong part, but choice followed through and reassigned my repair to a professional, and experienced company called Kelliers Appliance, repairs, and Services. I couldn't be happier.
