Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Heat went out , Sent heating and cooling company . Scheduled for 6 days later in the cold. I called the comb to get them there earlier. Determined an Electrician was needed. Claim sent out back in to same company, had to call back and go through the process again. Electrician scheduled for six days later, I called company and explained it was cold and they got me in because a customer cancelled. Time frame for repairs are not realistic, but money deducted on time each month!!!!

We have recently become Choice Home Warranty customers and selected this company because of the ratings of its customers. However, we found ourselves suddenly needing home warranty services at one of our insured homes. Choice Home Warranty responded quickly and, within a day or two, sent a repairman to resolve one of the problems. When it became evident that replacement, rather than repair, was needed, Choice Home Warranty responded and helped toward the purchase of a replacement appliance. Choice was able to find me someone to service my heater within a few days; however, the tech that came said he would have to come back to complete the work diagnosed. He said he would be back today. I even called to confirm and they did not come. I can not afford to keep waiting at home for someone that is not going to show up within the agree upon time or day.

I just spent $2200 on a 6 yr coverage i was assured NO MATTER what happened it would be fixed, alittle piece of mind. 4 months into it my water heater would only stay hot for 10 minutes while taking a shower noticed it during Thanksgiving with family here. After family left still having same issue 5 to 10 minute showers and dont wash dishes or clothes before you jump in or you cant wash your hair before the water gets cold!. Called in for a claim the next day chew left me a message they cant find anyone to come out if I wanted to find someone and pay them chew would reimburse me within 30 days!HA! Sorry to soon to leave a comment. He did show up on time. He looked at my Disposal and agreed it was bad. This was on 12/7/2018 had to call to get approval to get my Disposal replaced and ordered. Was called by plumber and new appointment made to come back Tuesday 12/10/2018 to put in, he collected fee up front. Thank you.

I would give 5 stars for the quick and professional service, but my dryer could not be repaired and Home Choice only offered $ 299.99 for a new one Dryers start at $400 to $500 . I thought with the warranty I would only be paying for service calls.

The rating for this company is 0 TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. They contracted a plumber to come out. He created access areas in my home in search of a leak he never found. The company approved him to do so a paid him. In turn because he was not successful finding my leaks they would not repair the access areas he created. I suggest no one sign this company is a RIP OFF.
