Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

You guys really don't cover anything. Most of the people that come out are disgusted to be in business with you because you have tried their hands. Wasted trip for them and a wasted $45 for me. This "insurance" is a shot in the dark with each claim. Read the fine print folks they cover the barest of minimums.

Why rating starts from 3.5? I have terrible experiences recently with choice warranty. Customer care folks are rude and decline claim randomly. Rating is lower than what automatically they have picked of 3.5. My rating is lower than 2. I will not recommend this company.

easy conversation with salesperson trying now to resolve the mailing address need mailing address to be different from service address trying to call 800#.....not successful ....a bit troubling !!

The negotiation was smooth and easy. I asked if the fee per service could be reduced from $75 to $60 and I got it in a matter of seconds. Value for money, I would say, is much better than my current home warranty company. My coverage is yet to commence in a month's time but I am looking forward to an outstanding service from CHOICE Home Warranty.

I am a new customer. I was double minded on getting the warranty but based on conversation with agent I became a member. I had an issue with my Airconditioner. I could not get through phone, as they were busy. I went online and filed a claim. It was very simple. Within an hour I got call from Repairman. It was late friday afternoon, the serviceman showed up on saturday, filed for authority and within an hour or so got the approval for repair. Very fast service. I was constatntly getting updated through emails from Choice, as what was going on with my claim. Very good on communication. Thank you Choice Home Warranty. I am very concerned about not being able to reach anyone when I try to call in. I signed up on-line and for some reason I see that I have 3 accounts instead on just the one that I was signing up for. I received an email from Clark Astin but I cannot reach him when calling and I have not received a return response to my email to him.

Choice Home Warranty is a BAD choice. I was without AC for about a week and a half. I am so upset, I could just spit! I was assigned a tech and when he didn't show, I called the company and was told that CHW does NOT make their appointments. I wasn't even ON the schedule. They said CHW should have TOLD ME that I needed to call and set the appointment. (They didn't) So, I got an email that from CHW that they were RESCHEDULED for TWO DAYS LATER by CHW. (I called MYSELF, just in case…and it was confirmed!) So, when they didn't show THAT day, I called and was told that my claim WAS REASSIGNED BY CHW FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK! WHY? WHO AUTHORIZED THAT?
