Choice Home Warranty is a New Jersey-based company founded in 2008 which offers services contracts. Their plans offer protection against the cost of repair or replacement of major systems and appliances in the home via several plans. You can submit a claim 24/7, including holidays, via phone, online, or app. The company utilizes proprietary technology to begin the dispatching process after a claim is filed. Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

TechCool send a technician in the morning and fixed the heater and thermostat problem. But after a few hours the problem came back. I called them back and sent another technician in the afternoon to find where the problem is. This time the technician took time to observe and with his magic hands, the problem has been resolved. The technician told us not to hesitate to call them back if the problem occurs again and we don’t have to pay another service call.

This is my second claim with Choice, and once again, they were unable to find anyone to service my claim (washer repair). Well, they were able to, but I would have had to wait a week with my laundry sitting in the undrained washer. I opted for a reimbursement, so I have to pay the repair company and the service person has to speak to the the reimbursement dept. to be sure the repair will be approved. I was kept on hold waiting for someone to come on for 10 minutes, and then was hung up on. The second call was a 7 minute wait. Set appointment via the website and the repair guy was out the same day!!! My dryer was fixed in less than an hour. outstanding experience I highly recommend!!!!! Would give 10 stars if I could.

Had a ghost flushing of the toilet. In less than 3 days plumber came and replaced the flushing valve. Just had to pay my service fee. So far it's working good.

Putting in a work order was easy and CS was very nice; however, dealing with the contractor was a nightmare!!! I don’t have time to explain via this format everything I experienced since dealing with 123 Appliance Repair; I will say the man is rude, not easy to deal with, and not considerate of others time. Since my work order was approved, I’ve been trying to set up an appointment for him to do the job. It’s been two days, and he has not been able to confirm when he can come out. I’m very upset due to this is during the Holidays and I need the oven to work!!! I would suggest removing this contractor from your listing!!! Very poor service
