Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I am so happy that I have Choice Home Warranty. The service is wonderful. I am always taken care of with rapid speed!! Best of all are the companies that give me service. And I know that I am not being ripped off or told I need something I don't Thank you Choice.

submitted a claim on 1/16. Choice had to find a contractor to address my issue. I told them that I had to be out of town and would have to my Dad sit at the house for the plumber. The plumber called and said they would be at my house second stop. They didn't get there until after 5:00 that night and was told that they had emergencies come up. I asked why mine wasn't an emergency since I had water leaking in my house. They replaced two water lines they said were leaking. I told them I didn't think that was the problem because there wasn't water coming from the water lines it was coming from the floor. Plumber said yep you have a drain problem and left. I had been pretty happy with the service I had received from Choice. I recently had to have some Plumbing work done in my bathroom, and was very unhappy with the fact that Choice would not approve replacing a cylinder in my shower handle to prevent it from dripping. That was one of the main reasons for my claim, I asked the plumber how difficult it was to replace it myself and he said it was pretty difficult to do. Because of this I will be looking for another home warranty that will take care of every problem I have. I am disabled and on a very tight income so paying the monthly fee two Choice and then also having to pay a service fee on top of that I would expect everything to be covered.

Waste of time and money. We had to pay $65 for someone to come out and tell us the part needed to be ordered. Then we are informed that they no longer make the part and it is not covered. Then they send us $40 toward “replacement”. This is a scam.

5 - Star for the technician who came and diagnosed the problem, he was very helpful. There is still another visit needed because they did not have the parts but that is typical. He was very friendly! 1 - Star for customer service not putting both of my claims on 1 ticket. I explained multiple times that I needed my stand alone ice maker fixed and was having some issues with my freezer on the fridge that needed to be checked out as well. They are sneaky so make sure you read your claim ticket carefully. you are supposed to be able to claim multiple items on 1 service call.

I came to know the diagnosis was not even sent in more than 28hrs. It was already given to me but not sent to CHW. That would be a terrible and irresponsible behavior from a new vendor of CHW

I was without water. Choice contacted a local firm and gave me the contact information within hours via email and phone. The repair person came the same day and fixed my problem. Matt from Great Basin discussed with me the service charge and how much Choice would pay on the repair in case it was a major problem. He fixed the repair and showed me what he replaced. Choice selected a good company and I was happy with both CHW and Matt. Thanks.
