Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Choice is so much better than my previous company. I never knew who was coming or from which town. I waited 10 days on a plumber. Have had no problems with Choice. Since I have only used the plumber, I don’t know about the other services. I love Chris the plumber.

I called about a repair for my washing machine, they called back and was willing to give me an appointment the next day. I had to reschedule to have someone home and they came the day I requested. Choice Home Warranty has made this transaction easier than I thought it would be.

I had a small, at least I thought it was, problem with the dishwasher. I called choice warranty and in 2 days the schedule for the appliance man was set. He was very good and was very pleasant.

not satisfied with the person that was sent out to fix microwave .my appointment was between 11:00 to 3:00 person did not show up till between 4:00 and 5:00 on Tuesday of this week looked at it decided what was wrong with gave them a check for 60.00 dollars. when they left I asked him what time he would be back on Wednesday he said 10:00 never showed up or called. I called them and left a message and never received a call back. I am very dissatisfied with them.

So far our experience has been excellent. The very next day after we put in our claim we heard from the technician and he was at our house the next day. We're waiting for a repair part but we are very satisfied today.

I was told by the service prison this was a factory defect. I check on this and found out that could be a possibility. However it could also be a clogged drain. He did not physical look at this. I have asked him to come back and see if this could be the problem. Have not heard back from him.

CHW is by far the worst home warranty ever. They are very misleading and look for ways to not pay out. I was told that "if they couldn't fix it they would replace it". That has been far from the truth. I submitted a couple of claims to CHW and they paid $0 or fixed anything that was wrong, but I was still liable for the service call fee. I canceled my policy and no longer want to be a part of this!!

I have made 2 claims. Both for appliances (washing machine and refrigerator) both times they are quick to respond and set up a service appointment with an independent subcontractor. And both times they decided it was better to replace the appliance rather than repair. That is where the negative part of my experiencehas been; they do not actually replace the defective appliance but instead offer a cash sum for you to replace it yourself. The money does not cover the replacement cost of a new one. (About half of retail cost for same brand new appliance)
