Choice Home Warranty is a New Jersey-based company founded in 2008 which offers services contracts. Their plans offer protection against the cost of repair or replacement of major systems and appliances in the home via several plans. Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Response to my claim was quick and a service call was set up within reason. I am very happy with Choice Home Warranty but the technician was rude, and acted like he didn’t want to be bothered with the appointment. He did not tell me what the problem with my dishwasher was he just said he would wait 15 minutes to get instructions from CHW and after that there was nothing he could do. He left after waiting 16 minutes and he left screws and other things on the floor by the dishwasher and didn’t tell me left it that way.

Used the warranty once last year on my air conditioner. It was nice to only pay $45 deduct instead if $600+. Also attempted to use on my hot water tank, but, wasn't able to due to rusting not covered. But was able to get a $400 check from CHW for Inconvenience. Appreciated the call from Will today and signed for 3yrs with a senior disc savings & 3 mthly punts. Also now my rates are fixed and I can budget knowing no more increases in rates! Will be referring people to CHW.

Went online on Saturday, had appointment for Tuesday, technician had our AC working by noon.

Once we submitted our request for our AC out on a Monday, the scheduled appointment came back for Friday. This timeframe was unacceptable, but we contacted the service provider directly and he came out at noon on Monday, which was great. This is the first time we used Choice Home Warranty and we were quite concerned whether it would work out. The service provider quickly found the problem with the relay on the compressor, fixed it and our house guests were very happy to be cool!

I have been called 5 times a day for weeks even after signing up. I have blocked multiple numbers and asked more then one person to remove me from the list as I have already signed up and 5 calls a day is borderline harrassment.

Order #76016647. Turned order in Saturday the 4th, Full Force Plumbing was at the house Monday, the 6th, at 1PM. Had the leak fixed and everything cleaned up by 1:30 PM. Friendly, curtious service, job wee done. Thanks Full Force and Choice Home Warranty.
