Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Pocono Climate Control came and resolved the problem on our central a/c unit. It needed freon and worked well. Without CHW involved in this situation, we would have paid hundreds of $$ more. We just paid the $45 and that is all!!! Incredible!!!

Choice Home Warranty is guilty of practicing bad faith insurance. I am a policyholder and my claim has been improperly denied or delayed by this company. Choice Home Warranty failed to conduct a proper investigation into my claim and they are using unreasonable grounds to deny my claim. I live in Florida where temps are in the 90's daily and my air conditioning unit went out in June and I have two small children. I called and a technician showed up and said that my contactor and compressor needs to be replaced due to normal wear and tear. I have been surprised by the excellent service I have received by Choice Home Warranty in the last 30 days. I have had two issues that needed attending to. When you set up a claim you are informed that it might take up to several hours before someone gets in touch with you, but in my cases it has been less than an hour before the same service man has called to make an appointment. He does not put it off until the next day, he has come directly from another job. It was a Saturday around noon when he came to diagnose the problem and was back in the afternoon to install the part. I don't like having to make a claim, but it is with peace of mind that you know the problem will be fixed.

This company will not honor their contract. I called with a broken gas line, they said fireplaces are not covered, part of the heating system..then my a.c. went out, they refused to fix it telling me I didn't have it serviced, which was a lie and their way of getting out of it. I purchased a 3 year contract. Barely had it a year, I told them to cancell my contract and give me my money back for the remaining 2 yrs, $700 . I have got nothing but a run around, lied to, had me sign a notorized agreement that i wont slander their name, was supposed to be paid within 30 days, well they breeched the contract, its bern 33 days and still no check..tnis company is horrible and their advertisement... Excellent service Called Choice Home Warranty for pool repair 9 am....pool repair company reached me at 12 noon. He was at my home at 1:30 pm and fixed pool.......Can't get any better !!!!

Excellent customer service. The Choice team did a great job locating someone to repair our refrigerator. The technician called and scheduled the appointment within 24 hours. He was about an hour late arriving but called us to let us know. He evaluated the issue, ordered the part and will return in 10 days to make the repair since the part was not in stock. Great job!
