Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I chose Choice Home Warranty because it covers pools and spas which my prior HOW did not. My pool pump quit on a Saturday morning July 1. Tuesday, July 4, obviously is a holiday. I thought,no way will I get any service until after the holiday and by then, my pool is in jeopardy of turning green. But I went online and filed my claim. First thing Monday morning, I got a call and before noon, my pool pump was fixed and back in operation. I have a clean, clear pool for the holiday. Thank you for prompt and efficient service.

Home choice assigned a licensed Plumber within 1 hour after I claimed. A licensed plumber came next morning exactly on time as scheduled. his skills are very professional , repairs the clogging kichen sink and clean it after work. I am very satisfied with the service.

The provider, Bill Plumbing was prompt, cordial, professional and efficient. He solved our problem without long stories, excuses, and any attempts to gain a personal advantage. I will request this company service if any problems would occur ( I hope not) in the future.

I am greatful that I had Choice home warranty. My Heat Pump went on the fritz and I call up choice. Shortly after I received a phone call from a repair company to schedule an appointment; the technician was out the next day. After he did some troubleshooting he found the problem and fixed it (he thought). When I tried to cool the house down that evening, again it did not work. I called Coice again and the next day receive a phone call from another service company to schedule an appointmment. The technician came over and this time found the problem for sure; he tempoarily repaired it, but said it needed to have a new control wire ran (mice had chewed the old one). I processed two claims simultaneously. One service company did not honor their commitment; however, CHW assigned me another service company without any hassle. When the exact same thing happed with my previous home warranty provider, I went through what felt like an interrogation and they insisted on sending the same company back again. Needless to say, I am no longer with that home warranty provider. I've always had positive experiences with CHW. I feel they actually listen to my concerns and do a great job of resolving my issues.

I went on-line to look into my options for a home warranty. Being a real estate agent myself, I have a few high rated providers that my office prefers us to use; however, I like research options myself since I may recommend the product to clients in the future. My experience from entering in my data on-line: I received a call within minutes from their inside sales department out of NJ (+).
