This year we bought two policies with travelinsurance.com. Both were John Hancock's Silver policy. We would not use travelinsurance.com again because they would not post our review of our negative experience with John Hancock and its servicing contractor Seven Corners. Notice how most of the reviews on this website are positive, to help in selling policies. This favors insurers over the insureds by keeping insurers in a positive light by hiding reviews of those customer insureds who filed claims and had a negative outcome. Tip: Disregard reviews by people who didn't file claims. Of course they're positive, because they didn't use the product. Rely on reviews by users of the product; i.e.... Read More
I was very impressed with the initial interaction with web representative and purchased a policy. Yet, when I needed to file a claim on a trip that had been cancelled for one of our parties, I could not get ahold of anyone and got a complete run around. When I finally was able to talk to the web representative again and get an email to get a claim form, the claim is nearly impossible to file- 11 items needed and a doctors note saying why you could not travel- even for a positive covid test for a country that will not let you get a travel visa if you test psoitive for covid? I need to post this as a bit of a retraction about TravelInsurance.com (TI.com) --Initially I had a very poor experience with an insurance company that I bought a policy from through Travel Insurance.com. I thought for sure that TI.com was in collusion with this agency to defraud customers when I failed to get my policy honored after over 6 months of repeated efforts and unanswered emails. My belief of collusion arose from the observation that Yelp and the BBB both have scathing collections of reviews of the travel insurance company I used... yet somehow TravelInsured.com has 5 star ratings for them on their site. My experience with travel insurance.com is that they are disgraceful. I ordered CSA/Generalli insurance through their website and my cruise and flights were cancelled by the operators due to COVID-19 restrictions, and therefore, I no longer need insurance3. I tried to contact the company by phone to get a refund but their recorded message says that all CSA refund requests must be handled on their website. When I entered my information, the website only gives me the option of getting a VOUCHER. The last thing I need is another travel voucher. THEY WON'T EVEN SPEAK TO ME, AND IT SEEMS FROM PREVIOUS COMMENTS THAT I AM NOT ALONE. I feel that I was taken advantage of and I can't even speak with... Read More
WE NEED TO SPEAK TO A REPRESENTATIVE, MAY WE HAVE A TELEPHONE NUMBER THAT WORKS?
I was able to compare a lot of different plans and companies on travelinsurance.com and am generally pleased with the service. Our travel agent offered us a plan for $288 and I was able to find better coverage for almost $50 less. Would recommend this to others.
