But while both companies run head-to-head in some areas – such as unrestricted vet selection and coverage – flexibility (as well as price) could be a sticking point for consumers when choosing between these two companies.

Healthy Paws offers all of these services at no extra cost.

Overall, Healthy Paws outranks Trupanion in terms of pricing.

Trupanion's starting monthly premiums tend to be more expensive than Healthy Paws.

However, the real sticking point for consumers may be that they cannot adjust their reimbursement percentage with Trupanion and that the company also charges extra for owner assistance or alternative therapies.

However, both are flexible in terms of being able to choose deductible amounts.

One factor that makes Healthy Paws stand out among other pet insurance providers is the ease of submitting claims through the company's mobile app.
