Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Initially, I called Choice for a leaking AC unit. The AC cooled fine, it was leaking. The technician came and "repaired" the AC unit for cooling issues, and the next day I called Choice again since the AC unit was still leaking. The technician came out and was obviously irate that I had complained and told me he had fixed it. Well he left again, and instead of a drip, I found water all on my floors on the lower level. When I inquired if he was licensed Choice Home Warranty would not provide that information. Nor could they tell me if the company is licensed to do business in the state of Texas. I called about a leaking pipe in my crawlspace, and was assigned a claim number and company within a couple of hours. Before the plumber could schedule an appointment, I had a visit from hurricane Irma. The assigned plumber then informed me that he didn't not "do crawlspaces." Choice reassigned another company within a couple of hours, and that plumber came out that day, and repaired the leak. He also told me to call him if the leak reoccurred and he would return at no charge. Overall, I consider Choice Home Warranty a cost effective investment in one's home, and I will most likely renew my coverage.

AIR went out anf it was 96 degrees. CHOICE had a repair technician out within 12 hours. I was completely amazef at the speed..professionalism and helpfulness of the Choice empoyee when taking my information for claim and tje tech once he arrived. I will continue to repurchase my home warranties from Choice home warranty.

Calling to make a claim was very easy without being transferred several time. The person assisting me with the claim was professonal and knowledgeable. The claim was completed and filed with a very short time. Once the claim was filed, I was contacted by a contractor within hours, an appointement scheduled the next day for my convenience and the technician was here at the appointed time, effected repairs in a very short time and while he needed a part to part to compelete the repairs, he was back the next day and the problem was resolved.
