Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

We've used the service twice on a three year plan. A FORCED three year plan where we signed up for one year but got charged for three. Our washer was fixed and the serviceman was helpful, but my husband felt like there was something amiss back then. We called about our water heater. On the phone, he told them what the problem was. A repairman was sent---one who arranged to be here between 11:30 and 1 pm but didn't get her until 4, costing my husband a half day of work....and service fee to say this isn't covered. What burns us the most is that we could have saved the money at the point of phone call. If what we tell you isn't covered, why wouldn't you JUST SAY THAT?

I am rating Choice only on the conversation I had with a fantastic Sales Rep named Abe Coleman within your organization. He provide me an opportunity to save money by purchasing a 3.5 year plan for only $650.00 more than the $825.00 I would have paid Fidelity for one year! Plus the Service call charge is only $45 versus $75 from Fidelity! Overall I am saving a lot of money over time including can be transferred to another house if I move, or to a new owner of my current home if I sell. Abe was patient, no strong sales push to get me to sign and he was very well versed with Choice contract. I was impressed overall for the coverage I will get, the price, and the employee.

I did not had good experience during many instances as them come and say it’s old or not maintained properly- due to these reasons they do not cover, additionally they send substandard technicians. I will be switching from them and I have very good experience with SEARS even though they are little expensive worth for the money,

When purchasing the warranty on-line, using a credit card, the card information should be separate from the Home address that you want to cover!

The time it took to take care of my request to take care of my washer and dryer was in my opinion too long (5days) a wait. Please do not keep us waiting this long next time. Otherwise the prompt arrival of the technician was appreciated

Fantastic company! In the few months I have had a contract I have called twice for repairs and I have got the service I was promised. My washing machine stopped working and I got a new "brain" and the other day my garbage disposal stopped working and the repairman had a new one in his hand when he showed up at my door. The only issue I have is there are long wait times to speak with a representative but you can file a claim in less than a minute using their website.
