Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Same day repair, very good. Check water heater thermals and in good shape. Did have some rusting parts and said he would let Choice know.

Tech did not show up as scheduled for 5 days. No phone calls etc. I was told by Choice Warranty that they are not an emergency service company even though it was my heating system in 14 degree weather

I bought a 5yr plan with a 6th yr included 7.03.15. I paid $2375 up front. It is now 11.27.18. I have made 4 claims over this time period. The pool pump, it was denied because the part (it was leaking- needs to be replaced) wasn't covered. My hot water tank, I rec'd this message "It has been determined that the cause of failure is a leaking water heater tank in need of replacement. Please refer to your terms and conditions section D number 6 “Excluded”; CHW is not responsible for main, holding or storage tanks." That pretty much is what a hot water TANK is! It took two tries to get my garbage disposal replaced. I find that some of your vendors need to be deleted from your referral.....they provide lousy service and I do not like having to give them the $45 fee and then they don't fix the issue. You should consider refunding us when this happens.

Just purchased my second home warranty from Choice Home Warrenty. My first was for a rental home and now for our new home. Only used this company once and service was prompt and care free. When they tell you they get certified technicians to fix a problem, they mean it. Quick fix and curtesy is the name of the game. My purchase was also quick and easy, the salesperson, Barry, walked me through everything and even got me a great deal as a repeat customer. No complaints.

I have been a customer of Choice Home Warranty for approximately 6 years ...and most of the time...have never been disappointed. Since my home was built in 1986...and NOW a retiree for 1 year...AND a single mom...I have depended on Choice Home Warranty to solve issues such plumbing..washer...dryer...water heater...air condition...The companies ate reliable. ..the technicians are through/explain questions in laymen's term...and dependable. ...The mostly fee for Choice Home Warranty is an investment for quality service...professionalism..and PEACE of MIND👍👍👍!!!

Great experience with my fridge issue. I received an appt. for repair quickly even though I placed the claim on Thanksgiving. The most outstanding service though was from the warranty rep Gary Frank. There is a reason my company uses Choice for our clients - it's because of his service.

My name is Alfred James Policy #662396587. I am very disappointed in this company. I have been a member for over 3 years and have had 3 claims one of which was denied in which I had repaired my self for $340 two years ago. I have a claim in now for over a week. Heating problems CLAIM #71204924. My wife has since come down with the flu and I have a doctors appointment tomorrow 11-26. The lows have been below freezing and no one seems to care especially the tech that sent to my home. He came on 11/21 and said the blower motor bracket broke and yet to have submitted the diagnosis for repair so we will go at least another day heating my room with a propane heater.
