Our Overall Rating: 4.6 / 5 (Excellent)

Choice Home Warranty offers a full array of home appliance and systems coverage at a competitive price. The company offers two plans for existing home owners —Basic and Total. In addition to a monthly premium, customers can expect to pay an $85 service fee each time they make a claim, which falls in low-to-mid range when compared to other home warranty companies.

You can submit a claim 24/7, including holidays, via phone, online, or app. The company utilizes proprietary technology to begin the dispatching process after a claim is filed. The company has recently updated their plans increasing coverage and has fewer limitations. Their plans and optional coverage can cover over 25 major systems and appliances.

Choice Home Warranty earns a B rating from the Better Business Bureau and has a positive rating on Trustpilot, but in this industry, negative customer reviews far outnumber positive ones.

Coverage Options - 4.5 / 5

Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

so far the worse experience ever,I came from old republic to choice all these promises to be different have been a total disappoint with technicians' specifically,I had so many incidentsTechnicians so when they are sent out and collect their service fee and do a half ass job and don't come back to finish the work , its a consistant pattern, the person that sign us up totally lie about what is covered is not until a tech is sent out you find "oh by the way we don't cover this or that" total bull i'am so fed up but you live and learn .

The only reason this review isn't higher is because I reached out to you guys after the technician had left to see if more repair could be done on the disposal under my policy, and I didn't hear back from you. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that the disposal will be replaced, But there are other parts attached to the disposal that should be replaced as well because it's really one unit. Specifically, I'm talking about the tubular fittings and the wire and plug replacement. I'm willing to concede that the basket strainer is my responsibility, but I think those other two things should be covered. Thanks

My dishwasher died suddenly. 🥺 I logged my claim on New Year’s Eve and figured oh well, it will be at least a week before I hear from anyone. Nope nope nope. Got an email back immediately saying the call had been sent to techs and we were waiting for a response. Had a message from them overnight saying there was a delay flowed by one saying a tech had responded and would be out in 4 days. Wrong. The tech called me the next day and said they could come in 2 days. A-Z Home Repair showed up, after calling me to let me know they were coming and they were so nice. Explored the undercarriage of the dishwasher and sadly, it was dead and slightly singed from the fire it had sparked. No problem.... Read More

Although the plumber hasn't been here as yet, the service is working very well. I was very pleased in the speed with which I was contacted and received notification of approval. This is the first time I have used the service and I was very impressed. Keep up the good work. Carole Wyatt

Sent email to C H W as our A/C was not working. Was promptly answered and technician scheduled. A/C unit was serviced and the only amount I had to pay was my deductible

You sent a convicted felon to our house, And he is not even a licensed plumber. He unclog our sewer line in the basement, then left all of the crap, toilet paper etc. on the floor, everywhere!, then walked out and tracked it all over our patio and then he left. When I called him to ask him to come clean up his mess, his response was “I do not get paid to clean up”. It was his mess! I’ve never seen a plumber do something incorrectly so badly. This is the worst experience ever. What a waste of money. Now I have to Pay for a cleaning crew. And your company will not cover these costs. I will see you in court!!!

Considering this issue came in during the holidays . My freezer was down 4 days waiting on service . I would suggest technicians are made available within a 24 hour minimum response time during the holidays to address customer issues Also , you as a customer have the ability to pick your service techinician and be reimbursed within a 30 day window . Keep in mind , this has to be approved by Choice Warranty . This process can be cumbersome for the customer . I think Choice Warrnty made every effort to address my freezer within a timely manner considering it was during the Christmas / New Year holidays . Thank you Choice Warranty !!
