Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

The customer service of submission of my claim was excellent. I was contacted by the A C company less than 24 hours. Schedule appointment was provided right away.Very, very please with the service of the technician who repaired my AC

My refrigerator went out Friday morning. I made the service call and was originally scheduled for Monday. Rapid Repair call me that afternoon and said he was in the area and could come shortly. That was good news to me as my food was unthawing. Del came to make the repair and he was professional, courteous and knowledgeable about the refrigerator. He diagnosed the problem quickly and repaired without guessing. Choice Home Warranty - Rapid Repair was an excellent choice.

I hesitated to provide this evaluation because final resolution has not occurred yet, and I wanted to give the company the benefit of the doubt before reporting. However, it is now four days after our claim was filed, and we have received zero communication from the company regarding the status of our claim. Even if the claim is eventually resolved in our favor, the company's actions up to this point speak volumes regarding their service policies and their concern for their customers. This review is regarding my recent claim with CHW. i am not really sure if the failure point is CHW, or the technician. Regardless, the experience from a customer perspective is not good. On 2/25/19, I put in a claim to get my main pump fixed on my pool. Claim was assigned to technician, as it had been done before. Technician came out to report pump was faulty, and then submitted a claim for repair. They told me that the claim was not approved fully. No indication as to why, they just indicated CHW said they would not replace the same pump, but offered a lesser quality one. This obviously didn't make me happy. I'm perplexed as to why a service provider cannot be paid at time of service when authorized prior to starting a service needed even though the consumer found a provider instead of waiting days for CHW to find one when it will take 30 days to receive a reimbursement to client. I have no problem with paying the service charge that is deducted from the bill but it seems unnecessary when/if the provider would have submitted a bill to CHW, it would have been paid in a more timely manner . You have all the information with the authorization and would save days of waiting for the mail. Just a suggestion.
