Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I called in for my garbage disposal leakage on Saturday morning. Choice called me back with a Monday appt. within 30min of my initial call. The plumbing company called me two hours later to schedule the repair for the same day (Saturday). I gladly accepted them to come over and they replaced my disposable on site. BEST service experience in the shortest amount of time EVER. Got a new disposable within couple of hours of my initial call to Choice!!! THANK YOU.

Processing the automated portion of the claim was easy and flawless. The repair person submitted the repair (I would not have that particular repair person in my home again, he talked about killing dogs the whole time here). The company reviewed his diagnosis and decided to replace the appliance (a Frigidaire Gallery 1.7 over the oven Microwave). Emailed me a cash offer 169.00 to replace. I declined the cash, wrote a lengthy explanation fully describing the features of current model and as to why that wouldn't begin to cover the replacement cost of new appliance. I would highly rate the technician for his knowledge and expertise who came to fix our heating issue. In fact he identified an issue with our Nest thermostat settings which was programmed incorrectly from a source of heat pump instead of Gas for several years causing very high heating bills. I’m very very happy with the service provided by Choice Warranty!! Job well done!!!

Upstairs A.C. quit working , called on ar Friday and on Saturday (the next day) a technician calls and says he will be there in 1 hour. Found the issue and fixed it that day. I have been with American Home warranty for years and they been out 8 times to fix my dishwasher with 5 different techs , and finally made the decision that there's nothing they can do, and came up with a bs story that wouldn't allow them to stick to there promise to replace it. Best move was to get rid of AHW and go with Choice Home Warranty. Great service and great people!

AC Contractor assigned to my claim did not show up at all on assigned day, did not answer his phone ever, and did not call me to notify me that he needed to reschedule the next day. Waited 3 hours and 58 minutes on my Saturday before he finally showed up. Choice warranty claim people uncaring and unhelpful, said they could assign another contractor if I would like, told me I could call a company of my choice if I wanted but that I would be responsible to pay the bill, Not at all professional. I recommend that people put their money aside that they pay for this useless service and pay a reputable professional contractor themselves.
