Our Overall Rating: 4.6 / 5 (Excellent)

Choice Home Warranty offers a full array of home appliance and systems coverage at a competitive price. The company offers two plans for existing home owners —Basic and Total. In addition to a monthly premium, customers can expect to pay an $85 service fee each time they make a claim, which falls in low-to-mid range when compared to other home warranty companies.

You can submit a claim 24/7, including holidays, via phone, online, or app. The company utilizes proprietary technology to begin the dispatching process after a claim is filed. The company has recently updated their plans increasing coverage and has fewer limitations. Their plans and optional coverage can cover over 25 major systems and appliances.

Choice Home Warranty earns a B rating from the Better Business Bureau and has a positive rating on Trustpilot, but in this industry, negative customer reviews far outnumber positive ones.

Coverage Options - 4.5 / 5

Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

We have used CHW twice and both times we were connected with the company we needed within an hour and they always showed up at the specified time and did a very pleasing job , we have no complaints nor regrets except wishing we had signed up with CHW long before we did .We would recommend this company to anyone looking for a home warranty company and we are very excited about our affordable monthly payments since we are both on fixed incomes

The only call I have ever made during the warranty time was for my air conditioner. They told me that it was going to take three weeks to bring someone out to the house to even look at it. The company that came out was extremely unprofessional by complaining about Choice. He told me that he can hardly ever get this company to approve any work, and that I should not use this company again. And, they only do work for this company when they have no other work on the schedule. they don't hardly get compensated from them. So my work was not approved. After waiting three weeks, I had to hire someone myself to come out and fix it. It was nothing but a big headache.

My garage door stopped working. I called CHM and they said it could take up to three days to be contacted and get the service done. This was my first claim and I was resigned to a long wait. Instead, I got a call back in less than ten minutes and the technician offered to come that afternoon! The technician from Mid South Doors was prompt, courteous and efficient.

It is the middle of February and my heating system stopped working, so I called CHW. I told the lady on the phone we had an emergency (no heat). She said she would whatever necessary to help! The next day we had a Heating and A/C company come to the house and repair our unit. I think that is as good as it gets from a warranty company. Thank you CHW. Ron Woisin Floresville, Texas

Had this company and I advise you that they do not have good service or coverage. My AC went out do to a leak. The tech they sent out looked at my ac and sent the paper work to Choice home and they denied it. I had to find another tech to come out and give a second opinion. I also had to call choice homes myself and have the tech speak to the authorization department to see if we could get it approved. The total amount to repair the leak and put refrigerant was $1300. Choice home only approved $120.00 for the tech to fix the leak and left me paying the rest out of pocket. When I called and asked them why are they not covering the whole thing they turned around and told me they're just... Read More

Home Choice warrany sent a contractor that performed a dishonest service to my stove. The contractor lied about his work and broke the hinge on my DCS Fisher Paykal oven. Home Choice is in tge process of removing TUCKER Appliance as a vendor for dishonesty. Home Chouce takes wirk seriously with all contractors. They a are first class Warranty company that cares for the client with care that all work is 100 percent repaired with a Smile. There are not many Warranty companies that give the policy holder security like Home Choice Warranty.
