The Samsung WV60M9900AV/A5 washer and its matching DVE60M9900V/A3 dryer are a great choice for people with large families and varied laundry needs due to its large capacity and flexible washing and drying capabilities, which allow users to take care of two different loads with separate settings at the same time. The fact that both machines are ENERGY STAR-compliant is also bound to draw many consumers to this one-of-a-kind pair. Though the washer warranty is run-of-the-mill, the dryer warranty offered by Samsung is disappointing compared to other manufacturers. However, consumers may find having these magnificent machines is worth the risk.

The Samsung WV60M9900AV/A5 is the largest washing machine we've looked at, with an impressive 6.0 cu. ft. total interior capacity. Featuring FlexWash™ technology, it's really two washers in one, with 1 cu. ft. in a top-loading composition and 5 cu. ft. in a front-loading basket, which allows consumers to wash two different loads of laundry at the same time, saving space and ensuring that delicates are treated the way they deserve. The larger washer compartment is certified by ENERGY STAR, meaning it meets or exceeds federal regulations for water and energy efficiency.

The matching dryer is the DVE60M9900V/A3, which also boasts a huge 7.3 cu. ft. capacity. It includes FlexDry™ technology, which integrates two drying compartments into a single machine to continue the individualized laundry experience established by the washer. The smaller dryer has a flat drying rack, ideal for drying sweaters or other delicates. Unlike other dryers, the DVE60M9900V/A3 is ENERGY STAR-certified, in addition to including a specialized Eco Dry feature that uses less energy on every load.

The WV60M9900AV/A5 washer includes a wide array of additional wash cycles, allowing owners to fully personalize their laundry routines. Among these features are Super Speed Wash, which washes a full load of laundry in only 30 minutes, Steam Wash, and a deep-cleaning Power Foam cycle. It also offers detergent dispensers that automatically use the exact amount needed for the specific load.

The DVE60M9900V/A3 dryer is equally well-appointed, with a range of dry programs for every type of fabric. It also offers Multi-Steam technology, which gets rid of wrinkles, odors, and static, and a helpful Sensor Dry feature which detects the amount of moisture in the air inside the dryer drum and shuts the machine off automatically once the load is dry, thereby preventing damage from overdrying.

The washer features VRT Plus™, which reduces vibrations and noise while it is running. It's unclear whether the dryer has this feature as well.

Warranty - 4.8 / 5

Both appliances feature limited warranties offered by Samsung, which covers defects in parts or products. The warranty is only valid on products purchased in the United States. The WV60M9900AV/A5 warranty covers parts and labor for one year, parts only for the stainless steel drum for three years, and parts just for the direct drive motor for ten years (all dates are from the time of purchase). The DVE60M9900V/A3 dryer is only covered for one year on all parts and labor. Though dryer warranties tend to be considerably shorter than washer warranties, this is still a bit disappointing, as its one of the shortest dryer warranties we've seen. Below, we include the exclusions included under each warranty as viewed on Samsung's website. They are similar to what other manufacturers exclude.

SAMSUNG will repair, replace, or refund this product at our option and at no charge as stipulated herein, with new or reconditioned parts or products if found to be defective during the limited warranty period specified above. All replaced parts and products become the property of SAMSUNG and must be returned to SAMSUNG. Replacement parts and products assume the remaining original warranty, or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer. I bought this machine in June 2020. It was the beginning of the pandemic. It took 6 months for the 6 major appliances in June 2020 to be delivered. (Remember, the “supply chain” excuse?) What has happened 4 and a half years later—they are breaking. One by one. Planned obsolescence is a thing. I have never loved this washer but it worked. Now that it has drainage problems. The upper washer drains into the bottom washer and the bottom washer drains into the top. That Samsung only warranties for one year is telling. I have an extended warranty through Lowe’s but it has been a nightmare. They have been out no less than 4 times, replaced items including computers, and it still is doing the... Read More

My FlexWash broke down after about 6 months. Top washer motor bearings were destroyed and this was with minimum use. The motherboard died and the service repairman told me this happens because of condensation from the top washer. I always kept the top washer's lid open so there wouldn’t be condensation or mold. Samsung said they'd repair the machine or give me credit at Lowe’s where I bought it. But prices went up since I bought it and they no longer make it in white only black. That doesn’t work when everything in my kitchen is white. I am not happy.

This washer cannot get your clothes clean in the bottom washwer. The bottom washer does not put enough water into the drum. The top washer though, fills to almost over flowing, but you can only do a pound of laundry at a time in the top washer. At $1800+-, this is crazy expensive to not work. To mitigate the bottom washer problem you will need add approximately, depending on the load size, for a normal load of 6 lbs, 54 additional liters of water. How do you know to measure? I put 40 1.36 liter bottles of water in every load, this is the size of the Tide + Downy bottle. I you don't do this, you will get an error that there is not enough water. If there is no Samsung repair facility in your area be very aware that the authorized service providers are no where near capable of servicing the machine. Purchased a Samsung Flex duo in November of 2017. Initially worked great. Had one minor issue with the upper flex washer in December 2018 - one month after warranty, 1dc error code; door not closing. Paid for the authorized service provider to come out and fix machine; $323. It is now August 2019 with over eight site visits with multiple diagnosis and parts installed and the upper flex washer now leaks and we cannot use both units at the same time. Samsung will not even try to help anymore and the same repair service we initially... Read More

Samsung FlexWash washer control panel died after 15 months. Field repair by DISH network tech is slow and expensive. Do not recommend this product.
