It also requires each applicant to complete an online financial literacy course as part of the application process. Ascent is a program offered by Goal Structured Solutions (GS2), an education finance company, that has deployed over $26 billion of private and federally-guaranteed student loans. In addition to funding university loans, you may use your loan proceeds to pay for education at over 400 bootcamp and accelerated learning programs. Ascent offers two private student loan products to undergraduate and graduate students: Cosigned and Non-cosigned. There are no fees or prepayment penalties associated with either loan and both loans offer multiple repayment options, as well as fixed or variable rates. Ascent extends a 9-month grace period on its undergraduate loans. They also offer forbearance under certain circumstances. Eligibility Criteria - 4 / 5

Ascent uses a broader set of eligibility criteria factors in its loan qualification process, including but not limited to: creditworthiness, school, program, graduation date, major, whether you have a loan cosigner, and cost of attendance. Applicants must also complete an online financial literacy course. Students must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree program at an eligible institution (currently more than 2,300 schools). Students may be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, DACA recipient or U.S. temporary resident. Cosigner must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.

I'm in my first year of grad school and my fair skinned classmate referred me to Ascent since their qualifications are easy even if you're unemployed. She stated that after her BA she filed for bankruptcy and her score scores are in the 400's now that she is ready to start he Masters and they helped her. I filled the application out and they pulled my Transunion score it was 620 and I have 3 derogatory item on there which I am already disputing 2. The other agencies have already deleted them since it happen while I was in the military. They denied me stating I have too many bad accounts and derogatory remark. sounds like i wasn't light enough.

My daughter entered an app for a non-cosigner loan four weeks before money was due. It's now been five weeks and no answer from Ascent. She supplied all documents necessary, has excellent GPA and is attending a top school in our state. Right after submitting the app and docs she received two emails stating she needs to supply all documents. She called to ask which specific docs they were looking for because she sent everything they originally requested.
