This company is crooked as hell. They charged me a renewal fee after I sold my camper and canceled the policy. When I called to get my money back they hit me with a $50 cancellation fee. Who keeps paying for a service you don’t need anymore? Don’t use these crooks!! One star cause they don’t have negative one

They make is difficult to cancel your policy on purpose. No way to login to your account. You have to call and listen to so many options before you get to the option to cancel. Then you end up on hold for a long time. Then it asks if you want a call back instead of holding. Chose that option. Still waiting for way too long. This is a shady business practice. Not worth dealing with for the cheaper rates, and in my case, they weren't cheaper anyways.
I am so disatisfied with this service and claims. My RV a full time home burned to the ground. It has been a complete nightmare dealing with them and getting a claim to go through. Still waiting since July 7th. Worst experience of our lives. Stick with USAA Geico or their affiliates. Treated us like liars and cheats we were not even home POOR HELP!
This review is absolutely wrong! I have never been so disgusted with a organization since dealing with Good Sam and their stores, roadside assistance and RV insurance. Camping world prices are still the highest in the industry even with the "member discount", their roadside assistance is non existent except in rare circumstances, and their RV insurance is great if you have no claim. Once you make a claim, be prepared for their adjusters to call you a liar and deny your claim. I will never do business with any Good Sam affiliated entity. I would give them a minus 5 star rating!!!
We have had insurance with Good Sam for over 8 years with 3 vehicles. Not 1 single claim. My daughter recently hit a steel hose on I-10 that fell from a fuel truck. This damaged the rim, tire and bearing in the front end. We claimed same on our insurance. After 5 weeks of the car at the mechanic shop, Good Sam never did send an adjuster. After continued promises. We paid out of pocket so we could get my wife transportation to work. Then Good Sam rejected half of the claim. Only paying 787.00. Then doubled our premium and put 4 marks on my daughters record calling it an at fault collision. NO OTHER CARS INVOLVED. NOT CITATIONS. This insurance company is awful and is robbery.
Good Sam/ National General Rv insurance will do everything they can possibly to get out of any claim. Recently had a claim, $650, my deductible was $500. My claim $150.00. Sent an agent twice by car, they had more in expenses than my claim. Result-denied!

This is the most unorganized insurance company I have ever used.
I have been constantly harassed since I purchased this camper.
Yikes. I am going through heck with Good Sam Insurance (serviced by National General). They totally dropped the ball on paperwork and now most of the office is on vacation until mid July. I spent all day trying to get a hold of a human being because no one returns voicemails. They won't let me just get the repair done and reimburse me. Our vacation plans are totally destroyed (and the RV park payment with it). And this is just for a small comprehensive claim. Imaging if we were stranded somewhere!
With Good Sam for 3 years - now suddenly need to insure through another state. Of course, raised my rates 2 1/2 times. Policy is higher than I had with Progressive. Bait and Switch?
If I could leave a Negative Star review I would. An ABSOLUTE RIP OFF!! Do yourself a favor and Buy Elsewhere! Good Sam and National General are The Worst. They want to charge me an Extra $70 for a child that doesn't even have her drivers license! Then they charge $50 cancellation fee since I found it cheaper (and better coverage) somewhere else.
When quoting, I asked if they included Progressive in the companies quoted since I am a USAA customer and receive a discount with Progressive. Agent said she did and Progressive was higher. Two weeks later I pulled my Progressive quote and it was $280 cheaper annually. I bound it and canceled my "Good Sam" insurance - for which I had paid a down payment of $85 with $76 monthly payments. Not only did they tell me there would be no return premium, they said I owed an additional $55 since I only had the policy 17 days they were charging me a "daily" rate. IF YOUR ARE READING THIS PLEASE DO NOT WAST YOUR MONEY BUYING THIS INSURANCE I PURCHASED IT TRYING TO BE SAFE SINCE I PURCHASED A USED RV. THE GOOD SAM SALES AGENT SOLD ME ON HOW THEY WILL COVER ITEMS BROKEN ON MY RV THE FIRST MONTH I START THE POLICY AND THAT THEY COVER MAJORITY OF THE THINGS THAT BREAK OR GO BAD ON AN RV SO I SIGNED UP AND AFTER SIX MONTHS OF MAKING PAYMENTS IT WAS TIME TO GET SOME THINGS FIXED LIKE THE SLIDE OUT NOT WORKING, BACK BRAKE LIGHT NOT WORKING. Avoid this insurance at all costs. They do not pay claims on time. Terrible service.
I have been trying to get coverage from Bad Sam for over a week and they keep telling me a different story every time I talk to them. They told me I had an accident witch I disputed and they told me it would bring my insurance up by hundreds of dollars unless I could get a letter from my insurance company stating it wasn't a claim on the policy for the last 3 years. So I provide the letter from Geico and they said it wasn't good enough, even though they admitted they were wrong about the accident. Everything about this company is a scam. RUN DON'T WALK FROM THIS BAD SAM SCAM !!!!!!!
I had a policy to cover my class C for the past four years. I NEVER had a claim, not one. Then we sold the RV and have not yet acquired our new one which is a couple of months away. They wanted to charge me $50. for CANCELLING the policy??? I went ballistic! This is TOTALLY wrong. I asked to have a call back from someone "higher up" after the sweet little girl on the phone told me twice, "it is in the contract". Well, she was right, but I still think that SUCKS. It would be like going to the same supermarket for four years and then deciding to go elsewhere and getting a bill for $50 because we stopped shopping there. I switched all of my insurance to Good Sam a few years ago. When I needed service, it was non existant. I was hung up on and disconnected several times, and when I called back had to start over with the entire verification process again. I asked for a supervisor call back and that did not happen. Good Sam runs this Ad where the president says if your not happy I'm not happy. Well, he must not be happy. I sent a letter to him and he never responded. In fact no one responded. I sent it again, and no one responded. I sent it again and got a response that said nothing. Worst service provider! Platinum Plus customer service a joke! Tried to charge me $45 to tow my car 8.9 miles it took them an hour and a half to approve the $45 charge on their Platinum Premier plus RV package Towing to the nearest repair I can't believe they're in business . . Over a hundred degree temperature say and they put me on hold only to disappoint me . And when you asked to talk to a supervisor I put you on hold for another hour and then conveniently disconnect you this is the second time the first time my motorhome broke down 7 hours trying to get a tow provider to my location with no success . 3 months later I break down 10 miles from my house they can't even tow my... I had a blowout causing major damage to my motorhome. I was so happy to have taken out full coverage insurance on my new to me motorhome. My black tank was destroyed, along with all of the waste plumbing, some electrical, and the underbelly storage area. The adjuster appraised the damage at less than my $1,000 deductible. Everyone I show the damage to laughs, and says no shop would even begin to work on the mess I have for less than $1,000. The black tank alone cost me $340 with me doing the replacement. They appraised it at less than half that. All of this was after leaving us hanging for a week and a half because it happened on a holiday weekend. I couldn't be less happy.
I am disgusted with Good Sam customer service. When I contacted the claims department they were less than helpful! When I sent an email to the president the question I asked was not answered. I had the extended warranty for one month and got overcharged with no explanation ( so far ) as to why. So far, the customer service for towing has been great.
I just sold my camper so I called to cancel my policy and was hit with a $50 cancellation fee. I'm pretty pissed about it. I would not recommend this company.
Good Sam Club Roadside assistance 1/5/2020 I have the GSRA Platinum level policy. Heading north on I5 with my Ford F250 towing my 27’ 5th wheel. The truck overheats, and after waiting a while for it to cool, I checked the overflow, and it became a black volcano of oil and coolant. I could not agree more with the comments below. They will do everything possible to dismiss, ignore, and deny your claim. It will be your responsibility to prove everything. Customer service is unresponsive. You will be at least 6 months trying to resolve a claim. STAY AWAY!
I've been with another company for 20 years. Deciding for a random change, I gave Good Sam a go. To my regret, I dismissed and minimized all of the severe criticism on mainstream review portals such as Yelp. At my age, I should have known better. Now, I'm in the hole with them. Their customer service is lower than sub-par. I wish all of the other Good Sam customers the best. For the those considering, STAY AWAY! :-)
They will deny every claim you submit, or they will just never respond to your claim. I filed a claim back in March. It still in not repaired and last we heard they were not sure if they are covering it. Our adjuster is completely unresponsive and I cant get through to anyone to speak to her supervisor. Even their online chat is a joke!
I am now in the process of filing complaints with the Dept. of Insurance because I cant get anyone to help me.
Pay the bit extra and go with a reputable company!
