Progressive renters insurance provides the industry standard coverage. Personal property is covered from $15,000 and higher, while medical liability coverage taps out at $5,000. Progressive does go a little further with coverage against mold and damages to the property it may cause from $2,500 until $50,000, as well as mold liability protection from $25,000 to $100,000.

Progressive renters insurance excludes any damage to the roof, building, exterior or premises around the home. Flood damage is also excluded, but Progressive offers separate flood coverage as an add-on.
Coverage Fine Print
Standard coverage includes:
-Personal property that is damaged or stolen are covered, even if it is not within the home. However, coverage for expensive items such as jewelry, art, memorabilia, and computers is limited, but may be eligible for extra coverage.
-Loss of use covers temporary living expenses, specifically hotel or rent and food expenses, in the event that your insured home is damaged and unlivable.
-Personal liability coverage pays for legal fees in the event the customer or a cohabitating family member is sued for property damage or personal injury.
-Medical coverage pays for the medical expenses incurred as a result of an injury suffered within the insured home by individuals who do not live in it. Customers may also add the following coverage for an extra charge:
-Water back-up protects your belongings against water damage from backed-up sump pumps and sewers. It will also cover water removal services.
-Personal injury covers the legal fees and additional damage payments as a result of the following legal proceedings: slander or libel lawsuits, wrongful eviction, wrongful entry, malicious prosecution, and false arrest, detention or imprisonment.

They also offer a separate phone number specifically to report fraud or identity theft, and a fax number.
