My wife and I have Aetna Medicare Supplement plans. The processing of normal claims after approval by Medicare has been fine. However, their customer service and online access are beyond abysmal. We were recently traveling abroad and did not have my wife's Aetna policy number for service at a hospital ER. We called customer service, and they could not find her account. So we had to pay the entire bill out of pocket. Now I go to file a claim, and my wife's account cannot be accessed online. The premiums are paid monthly through Medicare, Aetna regularly pays their 20% of the Medicare claims, and we receive explanation of benefits from Aetna, so the policy is in place. I guess it is ok if... Read More
Extremely happy with this company's plan G. I signed up at 65 years of age and policy is issue age priced in NH. Not necessarily the lowest price in the state, but I was also interested in the financial stability of the company. It's been over a year, I've had multiple tests and labs and everything covered 100%. I paid part b deductible and then no further bills.
Horrible insurance and don’t bother wasting your time calling customer service, they just transfer the call. They do not honor the contract as to what is to be provided. Can’t wait for January so I can change to another company!
They will not give you your drugs and when you call to ask for an exception they will hang up on you. They will do everything possible NOT to give you your drugs. They will deny even if you been on drug for years and give the denial as your doctor needs to say why other drugs wont work thus you cannot appeal as you need a statement from doctor. They chose this option for denial so you cannot appeal even though the other drugs will cost more and it makes no sense why you would be taking them. It is a total SCAM. When you read reviews of high ratings its because they BOUGHT the plan that had the high ratings such as silver script. It was a great company until Aetna bought it. Will... Read More
I have been trying to cancel a request to enroll in Aetna Medicare Value Plan. I received a letter verifying
cancellation sent in October, however, on the website the account is still pending and Medicare.gov is showing that coverage with Aetna. I have talked with three representatives. I was told the cancellation was submitted, however it was pending and could take up to 7 to 10 business days to update records. I need a verification. I was told it would be sent by mail. I requested an email confirmation and was denied, from Ayoki and Ryan. I am very disappointed with the service that I received with both. If I could give a rating at less than 1 star I would.
I signed up with this company 9/23/2021 they put my start date for 11/1/2021. I put in a form on 9/29/2021 to have my policy start date changed to 10/1/2021 because that is the date my Medicare part B started. This company took the money out of my account on 9/23/2021. I keep calling with long hold time and keep getting the run around. They said it could take up to 7 to 14 business days for the change. Today (10/22/2021) was the 14 business day and I called and now they are telling me it can take up to 21 business days. This company is a bad company.
Website is one of the worst, it not worst that I have ever used. EOB are really hard to compare to billings if the provider has multiple charges (i.e. Hospital Admission).
Aetna is the WORST insurance company I have ever dealt with in my life. Any test my doctor orders it is denied denied denied. They denied a MRI because they wanted X-rays to rule out arthritis. I was determined "disabled" due to severe arthritis "Ankylosing Spondylitis" at the age of 42yrs old. My doctor played their game and ordered X-rays only to have MRI order denied again. Either this is TOTAL incompetence or there is a financial benefit for them to deny doctors orders. If your looking for insurance I would suggest any other company besides Aetna. Two things happened when I chose Aetna for care... the first time I used them... and the LAST time I will use them. STAY CLEAR OF AETNA... Read More
I have called 800-264-400 several times today and there is silence, after you are to select from the menu!!!!!! The voice does say, "thank you", after a minuet of dead air! Any suggestions as to talking to a live person?

Their customer service is non-existent. I have tried to get a simple question answered on several occasions. I get transferred, put on a long hold, transferred again, and then hung up on. There is no one who can give me a straight answer to a simple request. The forms are extremely confusing. One form says you have 1 year to submit a claim, another form says you have 2 years. Trying to get any information is impossible. No one seems to know what they're doing. I cancelled my plan in complete frustration. This was after I filed a formal complaint with the Insurance Commission. Of course, Aetna took over 1 month to respond to the complaint. Absolutely HORRIBLE company. I will go... Read More
I have Aetna Innovation Advantage Medicare. It has been my VERY WORSE experience!
Don’t walk away from this, RUN.
I am going back to Medicare TODAY!!!!
I signed up for a Medicare supplemental plan with Aetna in Oct 2019. I was not covered by their plan until Nov 1 2019, however they deducted the first installment on 10-8-2019. They essentially used my money for 23 days with no coverage. If they do this with all their customers, they are basically stealing money from their customers and using it for their own benefit. This is unethical!
