Total Protect is a Total Fraud! I cancelled my policy and the keep billing my mortgage company.
I am starting to believe Total Protect is a scam. I’ve been waiting for a few months to fix my AC. They don’t talk to the service provider, there isn’t a reliable customer service contact. The customer service always tell me that the parts are on order, then, that they are waiting for the service provider to pick up the parts, they don’t know anything at all. The service provider is kept in the dark about the ordered parts.
I'm in the process of cutting my ties with this company. The last two problems at my home was paid for out of pocket because they kept saying no contractors were available in my area. I admit we've had them for about 10 yrs, had an air conditioning unit replaced which only cost us $300. Don't know what happened to the company, they were ok for a few yrs.
I paid total protection $125 for a service they never provided. I received my $125 after a few weeks. I was informed they couldn’t find a contractor in my area so I got a contractor to come out to my home due to I didn’t have electricity in about 80% of my home because my electrical panel was burning up the circuit breakers. Since according to total protection I violated their policy since I didn’t get permission I will not receive a refund for the repair for replacing electrical panel. Since they couldn’t find a contractor there for violating their on policy, I should be entitled to a refund in which they deny to this day.
Company will not provide a tech for me I’m told to find one myself find out the issue what needs to be done etc. I should pay and then get refunded. I am still waiting for a refund from January. I am 73 years old. I am living in a cabin with out any heat and I am cold. It’s getting colder every day
We reported a hot water heater malfunctioning (brown water dispensing). We were promptly give a service provider who we reached out to but the provider said they would not be able to schedule something for at least a week. There are small children living in the home which was communicated to the help desk and that we needed faster service. We were told they reached out to 8 providers and could not get an appointment sooner and that we would be escalated to Dispatch which would be another 24-48 hours. Total protect is one of the worst companies I have ever tried to deal with ever!
They took my money for 14 years and when I needed service on a dead refrigerator they told me I had to wait over a week just to have someone come out to look at it!
Had me on hold for over 45 minutes looking for a service company that wanted to work for them!
The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life!
Finally, after extreme frustration, I decided to cancel my contact and go and purchase a new refrigerator.
Stay away from this company! They don’t care about anything except taking your money and advantage of seniors!

This company is a total scam. I was a customer for nearly five years and when I tried to use them for a repair I could not get my dishwasher repaired. First they make it so you have NO way to contact them. They want repair charge up front and no return even when they don't fix it. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the FTC. NEVER USE THEM.
We were with Total Protect for several years. Our home needed a motor for our A/C unit according to the service technician sent by TP. After two weeks of waiting in August, the technician claimed he couldn't find a motor. He told us he just happened to have a used one on his truck. I explained to him I wanted a new motor. After his belligerence and promise to order to the blower, I accepted the old blower "temporarily." It has been 6 months and 6 calls without any service to get us a new motor. We had TotalProtect Home Warranty for almost 10 years - but something happened to the company recently, and we are EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED with their handling of our claim: for (as of today) 2.5 months (!) after submitting the initial claim, we are still waiting for the reimbursement check for our unrepairable electric range - and WE have to pay our credit card all their fees for the purchase of a new range!!! I have been calling the Customer Service every week - and were told SEVERAL TIMES that we will receive the check in 7-10 business days - and that if we do not get it, we should contact the Customer service again. I have been a customer with Total protect since 2012 and have only used the service five times. I called to make a claim to have my stove serviced in January of this year 2021 and I was told that my contract was cancelled. When I asked why I was told that there were not enough service providers in the area anymore and they didn't want to get a bad review for not being able to send out a technician. Mind you they had cancelled my contract in the middle of November 2020 and never sent a letter or anything informing me about he cancellation. The one thing they did do was charge my account for November and December of 2020 and I am getting the run around when it comes to refunding my money!!!!!
Im a current customer with total protect and have been waiting a month now for my refrigerator to be repaired or replaced customer service has been little to no help in resolving the issue at this point im starting to think this was a waste of my money with this company
I have been paying for this warrantee for over ten years. I went through two websites, three phone numbers and 35 minutes to finally get a person to talk to and not have to pay $125 to do it. He sent me to someone else who did not want to deal with me and tried to send me back. I know what the problem is, I have a picture but they have to have their person come out and see it and try to fix something I know cannot be fixed. When I asked how long I would have to be without a heater, they could not give me an answer. Run to another provider.
My oven went out in Sept and a tech came out 9/26/2000. I was told by the tech that I would hear about repair or replacement in ten business days. The repair company could not locate the part. On Oct 21, 2020 I talked to a supervisor at Total protect and was told their research dept. had to see if they could find the part after the repair company could not; but could not tell me how long it would take. This is obviously bad business practices
I have been a long standing customer of Total protect. I have had to used their provided services on several occasions. In 2016 I had plumbing backup problem, called them and they sent a plumber, who temporary fixed the problem. It cost us $ 1,776.36 out of pocket expenses and a $ 75.00 deductible, in which none of the expenses were refunded ! I October 2020, again having plumbing problems, I called (10/15 - Thursday) and was assured that someone would be out the next day. (DID NOT HAPPEND!) I have paid my premiums to TOTAL PROECT since 2009. Now, in October 2020,Our refrigerator goes out and they do not want to pay. Their technician, mind you diagnosed the refrigerator as overheated. TOTAL PROECT states that our refrigerator a Kenmore elite, is a standalone refrigerator and apparently is supposed to be kept in the middle of your kitchen and not in the designated location. When researching standalone refrigerators, Not a single refrigerator like mine is shown. Obviously this is a ploy to not pay the claim and to reduce their cost. It’s very understandable why this company has such poor reviews.
I TOTALLY agree with the previous review contributors: TotalProtect Home Warranty is fraudulent! We have been with them for four years and never had an issue, so I am guessing they are under new ownership? Our refrigerator was replaced four years ago with no issues. Our dishwasher part was replaced and repaired last year with no issues. But this year our Built-in-Microwave interior door part went bad; contracted company came out immediately. After that, we had to continually call TotalProtect to obtain an update on the status of the repair or replacement. This company is a scheme regardless what other customers said. I had a broken refrigerator. The first contractor came after 3 weeks of calling-in TotalProtect. He replaced the compressor. One month after, the refrigerator stopped working again. I called TotalProtect and waited 3 more weeks before another company was sent. The first company refused to come back. The second company came and said that I need to replace the refrigerator. TotalProtect refused to accept the 2nd company recommendation and could not find a 3rd company to come to see my refrigerator. If I could leave a 0, I would . When we first bought this warranty over 10 years ago, it was under another name. Every since they changed, the service went up $40 in one year and now that we need our AC and furnace replaced, there seems to be a problem. They sent us a contracted technician that didn't write up the whole job, and then want to change us an upgrade fee for $900 for replacing only the AC. They were going to pay him $450 for putting it in, so where does the upgrade come in. Sounds to me like I'm paying for a new AC. This is our last year with this company. I would like to give this company a new name, "No Protect". I have been a customer for over a year. We have been satisfied with the service somewhat; plus we are not picky anyway. This is also the first time I have posted anything negative online and open Yelp account because I do believe in giving grace to people or, this time, a company. However, after many hours, calls, and my time spent (free to Total Protect). My patience has run out and Total Protect got this honor. On 6/10/20, I have requested a service for a washing machine. Avoid this company like the plague. We are now on our third month without a dishwasher. The company has sent two different low-level contractors to our home (both of them told us upfront that “they don’t work on Bosch stuff”). Customer Service will never let us speak with a supervisor, or they lie to us and say “the supervisor just tried to call you.” The customer service is a complete disaster RUN.
As a rule they have been a great company they have denied to cover water heater 3/2020 no hot water till 6/2020 had to go another route $125.00 is deductible.
More recent my garage door opener by saying installed wrong that absolutely was not the truth replaced door and coils in 2017 it now 7/2020 door working intermittent came out 6/11/20 and 6/15/20 Job # SCCN61EC1868 Dependable Door Systems who Total Protection gave me to call.
Bottom line is not installed incorrectly at any time been in my home since 2007 they just did not want to cover it.
The problem was the logic board period nothing to do with being installed incorrect period
