I was forced to give these people one star in order to leave this review. There isn't any transparency, at all. I signed with the home service club in January of this year. I had a leak under my kitchen sink. I thought that I had signed up with the home service club, so why when I called the number that I was given to hsc, I was shocked when instead of saying home service club, I was greeted with, "hello choice warranty". When I inquired about the name change I was told that the home service club was part of choice warranty. I never wanted choice warranty, I had heard too many complaints against that company. I am totally frustrated with this service. I filed a claim for my water heater. It has been out since 1/19/2023. It took over 48 hours to find a technician, however the technician they've assigned has not called to confirm the appointment, and as of now they are late for the appointment. They have a phone number that is not answered and no answering service. I tried looking up the name of the company, and I can't find a listing for them. HCS can't even get the technician on the phone. We have been without hot water for 6 days and no one can seem to locate this technician. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Run AWAY from this Company as soon as you read this. I was dumb enough to fall for this company's sale rep offering services. I had another Home Warranty company that I thought was getting a little more expensive. I thought all of them were about the same. I got really, really duped! When I required service, I pulled out the contract and suddenly discovered in the FINE PRINT of the contract all the "NOT COVERED" parts of each APPLIANCES and SYSTEMS which will more or less find fault in any service you are calling for to fix, repair, or replace. Where to start!! I owned my condo for 2 years and suddenly there was water on my kitchen floor. I soon figured out I couldn't turn the water on as it was leaking under my sink so I washed my dishes in the bathroom. I submitted a claim for a plumber and no-one could come out for 2 weeks!! I live in San Diego, it's not like some isolated area. When he comes out he figured out what was wrong quickly and went to Home Depot for parts. In the mean time my claim was denied!! I also had an air conditioning guy come out and they didn't cover that either. Keep in mind you'll still have to pay their fee on top of the cost to get everything fixed. Terribly slow almost non responsive service, very high service fee per visit (95 USD on the contract despite 60 USD was in the original quote received).
The Home service club is the worst warranty company and based on their totally inept customer service it is shocking that they are even in business. I placed a claim with them, it took several days but a local pluimbing service came out to examine the claim. I paid him $80 for his work. I am not placing any judgement on the person that did the examination. He said that he sent in a request for the approval for the claim and I would be hearing from warranty claim department regarding the approval. I never did hear from them, after a few days I did receive an email stating simply that they reviewed the claim and based upon the information that was sent in by the service person. They... Your company is selling fraud and deceit. We filed a proper claim in February and your company denied the claim based on fabricated explanations not given by the excellent technician sent out to diagnose the problem - your Company, first by the sales department representative, Teresa and then by the approval department/customer service - Tom and Ki, plain out lied in order to deny an appropriate claim. This company is horrible. Will not honor claim and will not issue refund. Experience has been a nightmare. These great reviews are garbage. Please check other sights for the truth. My legitimate claim filed 6/4/21 under contract covering 5/11/20 - 7/11/21 is left uncompleted because I had renewed for longer term (paying $1364.89 for coverage that was supposed to start 7/11/21) and cancelled because original repair was not completed. Now told they couldn't honor claim because contract was cancelled. No - the NEW contract was cancelled the claim was filed under the original. STAY AWAY FROM Home Service Club Warranty!!! My experience has been a nightmare. Read any of the reviews (the honest ones, anyway), and you will see precisely how they operate. Their business model is to take the customer’s money, give them nothing but headaches in return. Agents are full of promises never delivered on. • “You can call me back at my personal line anytime.” It’s pretty amusing that the extensions each agent provided were all the same number. -$499.99 annual contract price paid in full for Home Warranty. My bank shows the transaction was processed 1/11/2021. -Approximately 30 + days after (February) I had a problem with my dishwasher and contacted HSC regarding. I was VERY dissatisfied with the suggested solution: No service person would come out, I was to shop for a new one at Lowe's and provide them the information on the item. I would receive about $100 credit ( which they would pay directly to Lowe’s and I would be responsible for the difference. I opted to cancel the contract instead. Seems like a lot of these reviews here are fake, because some of them are written very similar. Please look at other sites for reviews as well to get a better picture of real people's opinions. I have not had a good experience and am changing to a different warranty company. The customer service people are nice enough. The fine print in your contract makes it so they "don't cover" the majority of common repair issues

Do not waste your money and do not expect any service from this. I had two contracts with them and it cost me around $1000 and I received ZERO service from them. The customer service is awful. The technician who work for them are not trained properly and they just come to collect $75 service fee and for not doing the job they make excuses for not doing the job. My cloth washer had a safety pin in its drainage pump and I even did not get service for that. I had to call a reputable company to fix it for $139.00 for me. Was worried that my children might slip with the leak. You also child proof my house I guess haha thanks! Even played a small game with husband on when the crew will arrive. It was enjoyable and I won haha
I was so tired my hands are shaking from handwashing. You've saved me so much trouble! Dishwasher is now nice and fixed. I beg you get a warranty from HSC now. You can thank me later.
Sometimes the phone call is as fast as their service hahaha The repairman found a small issue in the wiring. Telephones okay once again! This is just the way to go! Makes owning a house less stressful.
It’s a very easy experience making claims. I really like it. The washing machine was on but it wasn’t spinning. They just fixed a small component.
My brother's house has a warranty with them. My parents too. Haha everyone has it! Everyone uses the microwave so we missed it when it broke down. All good now!
I make my reports via phone. The team to repair came after that call. They got to work on vents. Did a superb job on it. Got a followup call during dinner though, please respect dinner time!
The cooling only covered half the house. Its weird when the temperature is not feeling right. Thanks HSC! It was evened out well by their crew. Buying this for the house of my father to help them out! A neater home has one requirement. That is signing up to be with HSC!
My food comes out half cold. HSC restored my food's integrity. I feel like a screw is always unjammed from me when HSC responds. They relieve me of so much trouble!
We've had multiple repairs in the past but not like this. I feel like they restore it to its brand new state! Was annoyed with the leaking in house house. Was pleasantly surprised with the service that I got from HSC. Didn’t think there would be so much use for a warranty in a house!! I am a believer now haha
No more muffled doorbell, loud and clear! Same day service or at least next day service. Was strange that our visitors ended up knocking. Had that fixed in a jiffy. This is what you can expect from them! Do the reps get training on how to handle customers? They really handled me well even if I was angry!
The reps are very friendly. Almost this year did not renew my contract, but they were able to persuade me to stay longer. The other day they had fixed my water heater and I am very grateful.
