Today I attempted to obtain a quote for a semi-detached home in Maryland, after learning Esurance does not insure and will not quote homeowners insurance rates, the representative would not provide any id information (beyond first name)- declined call back, extension, etc. After an exhaustive request, was finally able to speak to a manager "Cody" who indicated he would have the immediate manager call me to hear my request/complaint. Raised my rates for now reason then charged me a 10% cancellation fee. Will never return no matter what and I will never switch to any of their partner companies.
Great company as far as pricing even with a somewhat bad record, and only takes about a half hour to get your car enrolled. After that, however, the customer service pretty much stops. If you get full coverage I am sure they will take care of you, because that is when they care, but if you are going for part coverage like I did, I wish you luck. I was hit by an irresponsible driver with part coverage and esurance didn't help me do anything really. This company will change your policy without notice, and then restrict your ability to change it back. I have been with Esurance for over two years now, and they have started to change my plan WITH NO PERMISSION in the middle of a policy - all to make more money! They keep emailing me saying that they have changed my 'garage' address when I have not moved since I started with Esurance. POS company, I will be switching before the next billing cycle.
The very first page, where it asks for information on the house to be insured, it keeps saying, "Oops. Please enter a correct city." What the...? I can't get past the first page, yet this is getting rave reviews? I imagine they want me to lie and say I live in Atlanta, the nearest big city, but I don't live there. When their programming is so terrible that it won't let me put my precise city into the web form, I'd say that gets a one-star rating.
