ABOUT THIS CARD

If you’re someone who has had very serious problems with your credit, it will be extremely difficult to get approved for a credit card without having to pay a security deposit. The Total Visa Card is one of the few standard, unsecured cards designed for applicants with poor credit.
Applicants should be aware of all of this card’s fees. You will have to pay a $89 program fee and a $75 annual fee the first year. After the first year, the annual fee falls to $48, but there is a monthly servicing fee of $6.25, which works out to $75 per year. These fees are deducted from your initial credit limit. It also has a very high standard APR for both new purchases and cash advances. So when you use this card, you should always avoid interest by paying your balance in full with the card’s 21 day grace period.

The Total Visa also reports to all three of the major consumer credit bureaus, so when you pay your bills on-time, it will add positive information to all your credit reports, and improve your credit scores. You also get to choose your own card design for no extra cost.

4 things informed consumers need to know:
  1. Get enough credit cards to keep the balance on each one below 30% of its limit.
  2. Pay on time, use cards sparingly and keep your accounts open.
  3. Don’t apply for too many cards at once. Do 1 today, again in 6 months, etc.
  4. More cards mean a wider variety of points and benefits.
