ABOUT THIS CARD

While Southwest Airlines is a favorite of families and other vacationers, it also attracts quite a few business travelers, especially small business owners. With the Rapid Rewards Performance Business card, you can enjoy more bonus points and benefits than any other Southwest card. For example, you receive up to 365 annual credits towards inflight wifi service on Southwest, essentially making it free on every flight. You can also use your card for up to four upgraded boardings per year, which normally sell for x-x each. And when you apply for or renew your Global Entry or TSA PreCheck membership, this card will reimburse you for up to $100 for the application fee.

This card also offers new applicants 100,000 bonus points after spending $25,000 within six months of account opening. This bonus alone will get you all of the way to the 125,000 points necessary to earn the Companion Pass, allowing you to add a designated person to any of your flights for just the cost of taxes. You’ll also receive 9,000 bonus points each year on your account anniversary, worth about $135 towards an award ticket. However, there is a $199 annual fee for this card.

4 things informed consumers need to know:
  1. Get enough credit cards to keep the balance on each one below 30% of its limit.
  2. Pay on time, use cards sparingly and keep your accounts open.
  3. Don’t apply for too many cards at once. Do 1 today, again in 6 months, etc.
  4. More cards mean a wider variety of points and benefits.
