ABOUT THIS CARD

The Capital One Venture Rewards Card has always been a leading travel card, but it’s recently been enhanced to offer more value in today’s world where travel is often a rarity. This card offers double miles on all purchases, with no limits and rewards can be redeemed for travel statement credits, transferred to airline miles or hotel points with15 different programs.

Cardholders will enjoy 2X miles per dollar spent on every purchase, every day. New for 2020 is the ability to redeem your miles for recent, eligible restaurant delivery, takeout and streaming service purchases from thousands of merchants (through December 31, 2020). Also, you can now earn unlimited 5X miles on all food delivery and pickup orders with Uber Eats (through January 31, 2021).

But what’s really exciting about this card is the bonus offer of 60,000 bonus miles, worth $600 in travel after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. There’s a $95 annual fee for this card, which offers a $100 credit towards a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® application.

4 things informed consumers need to know:
  1. Get enough credit cards to keep the balance on each one below 30% of its limit.
  2. Pay on time, use cards sparingly and keep your accounts open.
  3. Don’t apply for too many cards at once. Do 1 today, again in 6 months, etc.
  4. More cards mean a wider variety of points and benefits.
