ABOUT THIS CARD

This may be the best reward credit card you can use for food purchases. Whether you order out, eat out or go to the supermarket, you’ll be earning plenty of valuable Membership Rewards points. You earn 4x points at restaurants worldwide, including takeout and delivery purchases. You also earn 4x points at US supermarkets, on up to $25,000 per calendar year in purchases, plus 4X points earned on Uber Eats purchases. Then you'll earn 3x points on flights booked directly with participating airlines or on amextravel.com. New applicants can start out by earning 60,000 points after spending $4,000 within first six months of account opening.

These Membership Rewards points are extremely valuable as they can be transferred to airline miles or hotel points. You can also redeem them directly for gift cards, merchandise and travel reservations. Although this card does come with an annual fee of $250, you can receive an annual statement credit up to $120 in restaurant credits ($10 per month).  All this and you get a solid metal card that’s very impressive to look at and to hold.

4 things informed consumers need to know:
  1. Get enough credit cards to keep the balance on each one below 30% of its limit.
  2. Pay on time, use cards sparingly and keep your accounts open.
  3. Don’t apply for too many cards at once. Do 1 today, again in 6 months, etc.
  4. More cards mean a wider variety of points and benefits.
