Digium is a provider of IP PBX business phone systems. Based in Alabama, Digium offers on-premise and hosted PBX options which aim to integrate business communication. Depending on the chosen product, activation and installation costs will differ. Digium offers telephone and email support, as well as three year warranties.

Digium is a solid choice for business phone solutions. The platform is used by such entities as google, ebay, and the U.S. Army. But unlike many other companies who do not require contracts and have less pricey offerings, Digium customers can only have access to comparable prices if they sign on for three years. On the plus side, the $29 per user per month 3-year contract plan does provide a lot more features than its competitors.

Digium's IP PBX offering goes under the name of Switchbox. It can be hosted in the cloud or on premises should the customer wish to maintain control of the Digium hardware. The company also offers a third option where the client can use their existing hardware and infrastructure called virtualized appliance. These three options offer more flexibility than usual with business phone plans. However, the company advertises no SLA uptime guarantee.

Many of them that come standard with Digium would only be offered by competitors as part of their premiere level offerings. Selected features include voicemail to email/text, call recording, call barging, call parking widget, video/multimedia chat, Switchvox Softphone, IVR, and web-based management.

Digium's Switchvox cloud offers unlimited minutes and costs $29 per user per month if your company opts for a 3-year contract, $33 per seat for a 1 year contract, and $35 per seat for a month to month contract. A minimum of 5 seats is required. Toll free usage is charged .019 cents per minute. If you stay within the three year contract, this is a more or less standard price for the industry, but the feature set you get is more robust in comparison to standard plans of other companies. Switchbox offers the same features and abilities regardless of the plan you choose.

Digium is available for support over the phone during normal business hours, and also via Skype. Customers have the ability to open a support ticket on the company website and also access the customer forum to ask questions. What's more, the company has a comprehensive, searchable knowledge base. It is not clear if Digium offers 24/7 access to support like many other companies.

Excellent system, everything Cisco and shoretel can do at half the cost. One license per set ant you get all the features unlike the other IP systems where you need a license per feature. In my opinion and for the cost the best VoIP system on the market.
